Pyramid Solitaire: rules and examples

Begin with the objective. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. A clear plan starts with the current position. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Try a more deliberate round

Treat this as a chance to practise one rule. Tap exposed cards that satisfy the removal rule shown above. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

What you need to achieve

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Work at your own pace.

The playing sequence

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Tap exposed cards that satisfy the removal rule shown above.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Treat this as a chance to practise one rule.

One way to understand the rules

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Use another round to revisit a decision.

A useful caution

A clear plan starts with the current position. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.
